the most important thing for me in my work is to create and hold a space where a person can meet their nature. for me doulship, just like art, is an action towards a deeply ecological world, where there is a place for everyone and everything. I often rely on somatics and authentic movement in my practice, as i believe that these are the safest, most effective and beautiful ways to live in honest and deep chime with ourselves.

"its like being in nature with someone you trust. where every feeling or sensation makes sense just the way it is. and then its passing away.. or not, and its perfectly ok. even if its in the dense forest or in the middle of nowhere. connection is a catalyst"

doula is like a good friend we don't have sometimes. grounded enough for such charged topics and skilled to contain, open-hearted and educated in topics of death & grief (yet non judging). grieving is a natural process and death/loss is a part of life (just like birthgiving or love) and the work to be done is for the person going through it – there is no magic pill or surgeon for that. but when someone is witnessing, holding space, empathizing, mirroring and helps to research this space of a loss ("holding a flashlight in the dark") – it activates the natural ability to heal ourselves and the wisdom bodymind has about how to do that.

what is end-of-life doula? (international end-of-life doula association)
