glaucus no.1,2

in greek mythology, glaucus (/ˈɡlɔːkəs/; lit. 'glimmering') was a greek prophetic sea-god, born mortal and turned immortal upon eating a magical herb. there are a few versions of what happened, whether he was a fisherman and ate a herb for the fish which could bring the fish he caught back to life and caused him to grow fins instead of arms and a fish's tail instead of legs, forcing him to dwell forever in the sea, whether he ate a rabbit herb with the same purpose and fell into a state of "divine madness", in which state zeus made him fling himself into the stormy sea. it reminds me of how working with clay, pigments and other powders for a few years affected my body. this series was made right before the break in the studio work in august 2021. also its a metaphor of how commitment changes the artist, often i feel myself like if i have fins instead of arms and goo instead of brain. two vessels, chamotte clay, pigments, glazes, fired at 1050. no.1 is 16 cm and no.2 is 23 cm in height. $400 each, worldwide shipping from georgia.
